Co-pastors elected to serve Immanuel Church
At the Annual Financial Meeting of Immanuel Presbyterian Church on January 25, the congregation voted to elect the Rev. Teresa A. Larson and the Rev. Robert W. Ater co-pastors beginning September 1, 2026. Larson and Ater currently serve the congregation as associate pastors. Rev. Larson joined the pastoral team in the fall of 2020 and Rev. Ater has served Immanuel since August of 2004. The motion was presented by Dr. Deborah Anderson, chair of the Human Resources Committee

Immanuel mission partner supports Milwaukee tenants

Member Abby Tsao Debbink Elected Young Adult Advisory Delegate to the 227th General Assembly
At its meeting earlier this month, the Milwaukee Presbytery elected Immanuel member Abby Tsao Debbink to serve as the presbytery’s Young Adult Advisory Delegate (YAAD) to the 227 th General Assembly. YAADs play a crucial advisory role during the assembly, ensuring that the voices of young people are part of shaping the organization and ministry of the Presbyterian Church (USA). Johnstone Library Open House
After worship on February 22, the Adult Education Committee hosted an overflow crowd in the newly refurbished and updated Johnstone Library! Friends enjoyed coffee, snacks, and great conversation as they perused the collection. Check out the wonderful space before or after worship on any Sunday morning. This month the library is featuring a display of resources for Black History Month.

"Shrove Sunday" Pancake Brunch turns out 100+
Over 100 members and friends enjoyed a delicious and enjoyable "Shrove Sunday" Pancake Brunch following worship on Transfiguration Sunday, February 15. A longtime Immanuel tradition, this annual event recalls a time in Christian households when fat, eggs, and milk had to be used up before the Lenten fast began. Immanuel volunteers help finish Habitat for Humanity home
Hearty groups of volunteers from Immanuel and Crossroads Churches recently drywalled, painted, and laid flooring in our Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity - Presbyterian Coalition home in Milwaukee's Midtown neighborhood. The house was initially framed in late August 2025 and should be fully ready to become a home for a Milwaukee family within the year. What a joyful reunion! Members of Immanuel's Living Waters for the World team recently visited their wonderful partners at the Arrechavaleta Baptist Church of God in Matanzas, Cuba. Nine new members and friends welcomed
Nine new members and friends were welcomed by Immanuel's Session (governing board) this month. They were hosted by the Ministers and Session at a special Welcome and Orientation Event following worship on Sunday, January 11. The Immanuel was told and participants learned about the congregation's shared mission and ministry. The group will be welcomed by the congregation during morning worship on Sunday, March 8. Alternative Christmas Market raises $88,563 for mission partners
The final numbers are in, and this year’s market raised $88,563 to support the work of fourteen local and national mission partners. Since 1995, this special event has offered an alternative to the consumer culture that invades the Christmas season, raising nearly a million dollars!
