The Gathering Meal Program will serve Thanksgiving dinner to about 800 guests at three Milwaukee locations on Saturday, November 21. Immanuel Church has committed to cooking fourteen of the 125 turkeys for this special holiday meal. Immanuel is providing evening meals for guests at the Cathedral Center Shelter for Women and Families every quarter this year. The next dates are Sunday, November 15; Monday, November 16; and Tuesday, November 17. Mary Stoker Smith was recently featured in a story by the Presbyterian News Service following the General Assembly meeting in Milwaukee. Mary, a longtime affiliate member of Immanuel, keeps her primary church membership at the congregation in LaCrosse, Wisconsin where her mother is still a member and her later father was the longtime pastor. Immanuel friends joined a "Presbyterians With Pride" group to march in Milwaukee's annual Pride Parade. The Presbyterian group marched alongside our neighbors from the First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee and local Episcopal and Lutheran groups, too.
