Co-pastors to be installed on September 13
The Presbytery of Milwaukee and Immanuel Presbyterian Church are planning a special Service of Installation on Sunday afternoon, September 13, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. for the Rev. Teresa A. Help host Doors Open Milwaukee
On September 26 & 27 Immanuel will join 180+ Milwaukee organizations in opening our doors for special tours and hospitality. Through Immanuel's participation in this event over the last fifteen years, Immanuel has welcomed 6,500+ visitors to our church home! Patio planting area improvement coming
The 2025 Landscape Committee reviewed the patio planting area by the northwest parking lot, which has struggled due to poor soil, harsh weather, salt exposure, and wildlife damage. Design proposals were requested from two contractors in late 2025–early 2026, focusing on improving appearance and durability with plants suited to site conditions. Fourteen new members and friends welcomed
Fourteen new members and friends were welcomed by Immanuel's Session (governing board) this spring. They were hosted by the Ministers and Session at a special Welcome and Orientation Event where the Immanuel story was shared and participants learned about the congregation's shared mission and ministry. Become a Forward Scholars tutor
The Forward Scholars Tutoring Program is recruiting volunteer tutors for the 2026-27 school year. Immanuel tutors have supported this thriving program in the Milwaukee Public Schools since 2022. Started by longtime Immanuel mission partner, Common Ground, students in Forward Scholars average over 2 years of literacy growth after just 8 months in the program. Immanuel member shares adoption story
Mary Stoker Smith was recently featured in a story by the Presbyterian News Service following the General Assembly meeting in Milwaukee. Mary, a longtime affiliate member of Immanuel, keeps her primary church membership at the congregation in LaCrosse, Wisconsin where her mother is still a member and her later father was the longtime pastor. Immanuel joins "Presbyterians With Pride" in MKE Pride Parade
Immanuel friends joined a "Presbyterians With Pride" group to march in Milwaukee's annual Pride Parade. The Presbyterian group marched alongside our neighbors from the First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee and local Episcopal and Lutheran groups, too. It was a wonderful ecumenical effort to share God's love for all!

Thank you to the Immanuel landscaping volunteers who spruced up the Immanuel gardens and spread lots of mulch to help offer a warm "Immanuel welcome" to the neighborhood. Rose window returns!
About 16 months ago, the beautiful rose window above the main entrance on Astor Street (and in the upstairs Chapel) was removed for repair. Due to 100+ years of wear, the wooden frame and pedals were completely rebuilt by Zuehlsdorf Woodworks and the stained glass has been cleaned and will be re-installed by Oakbrook Esser Studios. Community Center for Immigrants welcomes volunteers
During April's Minute-for-Mission, Community Center for Immigrants (CCI) Exectuive Director Caitlyn Lewis interpreted the important work CCI does to help local immigrants navigate the federal immigration system. By offering supportive services under one roof, CCI helps people secure their legal status, continue their education, access better jobs, and move forward with greater stability.
