Co-Pastors Installed!
On Sunday afternoon, September 13, the Presbytery of Milwaukee led a special service of installation for Immanuel’s new co-pastor team: The Rev. Teresa A. Larson and the Rev. Robert W. Ater.
The Rev. Lisa Lynne Kirkpatrick, Pastor of Linn Presbyterian Church in Lake Geneva preached a sermon entitled "Intertwined" inspired by John's vision of the vine and branches.
The Rev. Jennifer Gleichauf and the Rev. Sarah Walker Cleaveland, Co-Pastors at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Racine offered charges to the co-pastors and to the congregation.
The new co-pastors were installed by the presbytery with prayer and the laying on of hands.
Ecumenical and interfaith colleagues from down the street and around Milwaukee attended the service. Nearly thirty clergy robed and processed with the co-pastors to visually represent their shared calling to point to God's grace and love for all people. A reception followed the service hosted by Immanuel's Human Resources Committee and members of the search committees that brought Rev. Ater (2004) and Rev. Larson (2020) to Immanuel Church.
