At the Annual Financial Meeting of Immanuel Presbyterian Church on January 25, the congregation voted to elect the Rev. Teresa A. Larson and the Rev. Robert W. Ater co-pastors beginning September 1, 2026. Larson and Ater currently serve the congregation as associate pastors. Rev. Larson joined the pastoral team in the fall of 2020 and Rev. Ater has served Immanuel since August of 2004.
The motion was presented by Dr. Deborah Anderson, chair of the Human Resources Committee. Dr. Anderson described the long and thoughtful process engaged by the committee and Session that identified the two talented and caring pastors already in the congregation's midst. Following their election, Dr. Randy Bush, Interim Pastor, offered a prayer of thanksgiving for Rob and Teresa as they move into this new call. He will remain with the congregation through the summer to support this pastoral leadership transition.
An installation service for the new co-pastors will be planned for the fall.
