About

The purpose of the Parish Life Council is to employ HOSPITALITY, the ARTS, and congregational EVENTS and CELEBRATIONS to build toward inclusive community at Immanuel Church.

The Council is supported by three coordinators:

  • The HOSPITALITY COORDINATOR does much of the work that says, “Welcome!” to the members and friends of Immanuel.  The coordinator recruits hosts for the weekly coffee hours and plans and hosts events like the Holiday Hors d'oeuvres and Dessert buffet.

  • The FINE ARTS CO-COORDINATOR plans events that express the faith through music, art and drama.  Concerts, exhibits, and theater outings are offered.

  • The SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR organizes events that enhance our life together with seasonal gatherings such as the September Ice Cream Social, a Thanksgiving Day Dinner at the church, and a pre-Lenten "Shrove" Pancake Brunch.  Outings and picnics also give members a chance to enhance the bonds of community through friendship -- and fun!

  • The Council is comprised of the coordinators and several members-at-large from the congregation.

Interested persons are invited to serve on the council for a two-year term; members are also recruited to help with particular council projects on a one-time basis.

The Parish Life Council seeks to maximize involvement and participation.  If you're interested in serving on the council or helping with a specific event, please contact Rev. Teresa Larson.
