The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper
“Maundy” Thursday gets its name from the Latin word for “mandate,” and it refers to Jesus’ commandment that we love one another as he loves us. It is Immanuel's practice to read one of the gospel accounts of the last night of Jesus’ life, his last supper and his betrayal.
The service will include selections from Part II of Handel's Messiah with the Immanuel Chancel Choir and Chamber Orchestra.
