About the event
On Wednesday evenings during Lent we will gather at tables in our common church home for a simple supper of soup and bread at 6:00, followed by a brief service of evening prayer and the Lord’s Supper around the tables. After supper and table worship, we’ll share in table conversation and learning together.
Tonight's Theme: Testimony at the End of Life + Legacy & Legend
Brent Janke, a member of Immanuel, serves as a chaplain with Horizon Home Care and Hospice and will share his practices of talking with patients and their families at the end of life. Using examples from his own life and the lives of some members of the Immanuel community, Rev. Janke will discuss the importance of storytelling using the framework of “legacy” and “legend” to guide the grief process.
