About the event
All are welcome to gather on the porch (or Parlor if weather dictates) to join Immanuel member Virginia Riggs for discussion on the novel Kindred, described by one reviewer as “a marvel of imagination, empathy, and detail.” Moving from the 1970s back through time to antebellum slavery, Kindred examines the legacy of trauma of those who were enslaved. A limited number of copies of the book are available to borrow in the Johnstone Library.
