About the event

Join us to talk about ways to normalize conversations about life and living, death and dying. That is the goal of Gil-Marie Janssen and Martha Badger, founders of the Greater Milwaukee Death Doulas, and the facilitators of a “Death Café” for Immanuel members 18 and older.

Don’t let the name put you off! Death is “not the opposite of life, but a part of it” (Haruki Murakami). Café is the refreshments mandated by Gil-Marie and Martha!

Death Café was founded in the United Kingdom in 2011, and almost 25,000 Cafés have been held in over 100 countries. There is no formal agenda, rather, it’s a chance to engage in a supported, free-flowing conversation that helps us explore how we might begin to have such conversations with others.

Due to the nature of these conversations, the event has a maximum of 30 attendees. Contact the Church Office for registration details.
