About the event
Join us for a special chamber concert of beautiful music, showcasing the compelling stories of stringed instruments rescued from the Holocaust concentration camps. These “violins of hope” will both be on display and included in our 10:00 am worship service on January 18 and then featured during a 3:00 pm concert performance with Pasquale Laurino, John Komasa, and Rev. Randy Bush. Works by Ernest Bloch, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Florence Price, William Grant Still, and John Williams will be performed.
Given that this concert occurs near Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, the program will also include a reading by Will Toney of a poem by James Weldon Johnson.
Come together with us for this significant moment of music and reflection.
