Fireworks Picnic

and Patriotic Organ Concert

Picnic on the Parish House lawn

and Waverly Commons lot at 6:00 p.m.

Patriotic Organ Concert in the Sanctuary at 8:00 p.m.

Fireworks at dusk

Join Immanuel friends for this favorite annual event!  We'll gather for a picnic at 6:00, followed by a Patriotic Organ Concert at 8:00 (thank you Organist Steven Jensen) while we await the Independence Day fireworks display over Lake Michigan at dusk.

Plan to arrive for the picnic at 6:00 p.m.; supper will be served at 6:30.  Daniel’s Catering will join us again this year, grilling hot dogs and hamburgers. Again this year: the catering team will also provide tossed salad, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, lemon bars and brownies!  Participants are invited to bring their own beverages, lawn chairs, and blankets.  Parking permits (one per household) and buffet tickets will be available from members of the Parish Life Council for a suggested donation of $11.00 during the coffee hours in June.  Please plan to make your donation when signing up.  Participants are also invited to sign-up to help with the event.  (Please note: Parking permits will be distributed first to persons who make a buffet donation. Any remaining parking permits will be available on the last Sunday in June for a requested donation of $5.00.)  Over 200 people joined us in 2019, please be sure to sign-up in advance!  E-mail the church office or sign-up on Sunday mornings in June.

Glow-in-the-dark bracelets and necklaces will be provided for children (and their friends); please refrain from displaying your own fireworks (including sparklers) on church property. Invite a friend to join you at Immanuel for these special holiday offerings.

Again this year, the Membership Committee will host a hospitality table on the Astor Street steps prior to the organ concert.  Are you planning to attend the picnic?  Would you like to help reach out to the neighborhood and welcome new friends to Immanuel?

Sign-up in the Parlor beginning in June or contact Mr. Ater in the church office (414-276-4757).
