"A Different Way To Do Christmas"
Enjoy a special kind of shopping this Christmas,
and discover the joy of giving gifts
that spread the good news of
Jesus' birth in a hungry and hurting world.
Since 1995, Immanuel Church has offered a different way to do Christmas, through our annual Alternative Christmas Market. During the pandemic, the market successfully transformed into a fully online event. Now in its 28th year, the in-person event returns on Sunday, December 4 after worship, preceded by a “Meet the Market” online preview event on Wednesday evening, November 30 at 7:00 p.m. The Mission Committee hopes that the two events will highlight what is most valued about the market: the chance to learn about the agencies through 3-4 minute agency updates at the online event and the in-person experience of the festive "market" in the Upper Room, meeting agency representatives, selecting gifts and cards, and enjoying camaraderie and holiday refreshments. In addition to gifts purchased in the name of family and friends, your presence at both of these events will be a gift to our mission partners by showing Immanuel's support and interest in their important work in our community.
Want to learn more about the participating organizations?
Gifts may be purchased:
at the in-person market on December 4
at the market table at Coffee Hour on December 11 or 18
by printing out and mailing back this shopping list / form with your check payable to Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Do not send cash through the mail.
Gift (greeting) cards are recommended for sharing and interpreting your gift. Each gift card ($1) will include the name of the gift and organization it supports and an insert to describe the organization being supported by the gift. Gift cards will be available at the market on December 4 and at Coffee Hour on December 11 and 18. If you place your order by mail and would like gift cards mailed back to you, please allow plenty of time for the church office to process your order.
