Immanuel ReSale Shop
Something Old . . . Something New
The Resale Shop of Immanuel Church offers a wide range of clothing, housewares, kitchen utensils, occasional art objects, books, and personal effects. All of these items are donated by members and friends of the church.
The shop operates on the first floor of Waverly House on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., September through May.
Members of the church have been responsible for the shop from its beginning and carry out the tasks of inspecting, evaluating, pricing, sizing and marking, displaying, selling and record keeping.
There are three main benefits of the shop:
- It provides a very inexpensive source of clothing and merchandise to the community.
- It provides a source of income for the church. Thirty percent of the proceeds go to mission projects; seventy percent is used for interior furnishings.
- It provides a tax-deductible way for people to donate goods they no longer need or use.
Volunteer workers for the shop are always welcome. One can offer one hour of time or up to six hours, one or two days a month or every Tuesday the shop is open -- whatever is possible.
Donation of goods for the shop may be made any weekday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. |
