WITH JESUS IN THE UPPER ROOM
Annual “Upper Room Meal” on Palm Sunday, March 28
“A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of Jesus and that followed were shouting,
‘Hosanna to the son of David!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!’”
Matthew 21:8-9
These verses from Matthew’s gospel tell the story of the first
"Palm Sunday," the day Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey.
On Palm Sunday, 2010, begin your journey through Holy Week at our annual
Upper Room Meal.
Follow the children of the church school in their palm-waving procession to Jerusalem and to our own “Upper Room.” There we will share a first-century meal of bread, fish, olives, dates, figs, eggs, and goat cheese. People who knew Jesus will tell stories while we eat, and we will share the Lord's Supper as we learn about the origins of this holy meal.
All are invited March 28 at 11:15 a.m.
