Many thanks to all who attended the founding convention of Southeastern Wisconsin Common Ground on Sunday afternoon, April 13!
As the organization moves forward there will continue to be opportunities to get involved. Issue research teams are continuing to meet, and – as a member of Common Ground – Immanuel Church participated in the first official Delegates’ Assembly on May 29. When the first issue campaigns are announced, they will be reported here and in the Tower Chimes.
In the meantime, if you have questions or comments you’d like to share, or if you know someone who would like to have additional information about Common Ground, please contact Jean Dow in the church office (414-276-4757) or go to the Common Ground website (www.commongroundwi.org).
Common Ground is a multi-racial, multi-faith, non-partisan, broad-based alliance of organizations in the greater Milwaukee region (Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, and Waukesha Counties) that is seeking to build collective power to help affect civic and social change. Several Immanuel members have participated in listening sessions, large group gatherings, issue research teams, and leadership training.
